Bowling - Our 59 th NE DISTRICT Bowling tournament 2012 will be held March 30-April 1 in FITCHBURG. For those of you who do not know what this is,

it is a Tournament where each society in the district bowls for Trophies, against each other. The three societies that participate are Holyoke-Adams-Clinton, and this year CLINTON TURNERS is hosting this event.

There are 4 possible events, SINGLES-DOUBLES-MIXED DOUBLES-TEAMS. Each event is Three strings, except Singles which is 5. You can choose to bowl in any or ALL events. Singles is bowled on Friday at NOON. If you can’t go Friday, you can come Saturday and bowl your singles, Then Doubles. On Sunday we usually bowl MIXED and Teams, depending on how much we get done the previous two days.

The reason for this email is EVERYONE is INVITED to participate or just come and cheer us on. You can sign up by emailing me or signing up at the club.

Bolwing averages are required by MARCH 1st. Averages must be from the year 2011 If you haven't bowled in 2011, you will need to bowl 3 strings and provide your average.

Deadline to sign up is March 1st In order to bowl, you must have your 2012 DUES PAID.

Darts - In House Dart League
An in house dart league is being formed!
Play will be on Wednesdays beginning on February 15, 2012 at 7:00 PM and will last eight weeks.
Schedule of play and game formats will be dependant on the number of players signed up.

There will be a league dues fee of $2.00/player per week.

Clinton Turner Hall available for rent
Clinton Turner Hall has a pavilion available for rent for spring/summer/early fall parties. It can be available until 10:00pm any day now through the fall. Horse shoes, volleyball, grills and fire pits are available. A great facility for business, social or family gatherings. 2007 Oktoberfest

The Clinton Turners held an Oktoberfest at their outdoor pavilion on Saturday, October 13, 2007. This was Clinton’s first Oktoberfest since 2001 and the event coincided with the Clinton Turners 140th Anniversary.

The Oktoberfest was open to the public in addition to the more than 400 members of the Society. The weather was great for mid October and there were many activities for all ages. The food was fantastic and consisted of knockwurst, bratwurst, German potato salad and sauerkraut accompanied by continuous German music.

The visitors to Oktoberfest were treated to an exhibition put on by the Clinton Turner Gymnasts. The 30-minute event was well received by those that attended, as the gym was full to capacity. There were many games for the various ages including a 3-legged race, sack races and wheelbarrow races. For the younger children a moonwalk provided many hours of fun, as did the pumpkin painting. Other events included volleyball and a horseshoe tournament for the adults.

With the success of the 2007 Oktoberfest the Clinton Turners is hopeful the event can become an annual event as in years past.
